Worst Newspaper Ever "The Gresham Outlook"
This buddy of mine has on several occasions, submitted some pretty outstanding photos to the local paper “The Gresham Outlook.” These idiots that work at the newspaper have no problem using his work but, they wont give him the credit. He is a professional photographer and assures the people at the Outlook that this is not how business is done. I was going to post a link to the paper...

My grades
I somehow ended up with 2 “A’s” and an “A-” this term. I sort of laugh at the “A-.” I wonder if it is really necessary for a university to hand out minus grades.
Finals Week
Just another random thought. It is finals week at PSU. I haven’t had a formal “final” in over two years. I’m just assigned a paper to write and I write it. It seems that after a certain level of college, the professors realize that regurgitating information does not necessarily mean you really know the information.
A very strange movie
I just saw a movie called “Kabluby.” It was an extremely strange movie, yet I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s worth seeing.

a great literary movie...
Last night I saw a great literary movie. I’m a horror movie fan; not a big fan of dramas. However I would recommend this film. It is called “Adoration” (2009). I’m not familiar with any of the actors and actresses. This one is worth watching!
We Read.com
I discovered the web site “weread.com” It’s really sort of neat, you can read a book and actually take a quiz on that book. I work at a grade school and the children will typically read a book and take an online quiz. I think it’s a great Idea to do the same for adults. It would be neat if they offered prizes for the “best” essay written but, that will...

I was really honored that Wilf’s Restaurant in Portland Oregon, Put my comments on their web site. I will say it again, they are honestly the best restaurant in Portland.

The Middle Ages
I just re-read the Canterbury Tales by Chaucer. It is really ironic… when I was reading “The Knights tale” I couldn’t get the lyrics “We will, we will, rock you” out of my head. I couldn’t stop laughing. I guess the comedic movie made an impression on me. It is funny that they made a connection from the late 1300’s by incorporating those...
What is literature?
What defines literature as, literature? What I mean is that Shakespeare and Faust, I think, can be classified as literature. While on the other hand I do not consider the children’s book, “Diary of a wimpy kid” to be literature. So what is it that make literature, literature?
Tomb Raider
I’m trying to play the game “Tomb Raider anniversary.” I tried to play Tomb Raider 12 years ago. Now I remember why I don’t play video games. I give up, Laura Kroft can stay in the tomb, right where I left her 12 years ago.
A very abstract thought
“What is a bank, really?” Then answer is simple. Banks are for people who have a lot of money and need a special “house” for their money in order to keep it safe.
The Other
I’m writing an abstract literary paper on the concept of “The Other.” It is based on the philosophical views of Plato. I’ll post it here as soon as it is completed.
Video Games
I have never been good at video games. I recently discovered Guitar Hero III. This game is awesome. I finally “beat” a video game. I have completed it on the easy level and I’m getting ready to try the next level.
Wine
While shopping in Albertsons this afternoon; on my quest for a decent bottle of wine… I made a discovery. Having realized that my wallet only contained $7.00, I made the decision to try a cheap wine. I was looking on the bottom shelf, that is where they house the cheap wine and noticed this sale, “2 for $7.00.” I thought “wow that is cheap” and was trying to...
Stephen King's "Just After Sunset"
I just finished reading Stephen King’s Just After Sunset. I think this was a great read. In the true sense of King, This was a psychological thriller, just screaming to be read. This book was composed of 14 tales of suspense that will transport you to another dimension.

Quote of the Day

DNA and Embryo Technology →
All living things contain DNA. DNA is basically a chemical that contains all of the information about us (in code form.) DNA is what makes your hair start to turn grey on your 18th birthday. It is what causes your ear lobes to become attached or detached during the development process and it even determines the probability of certain genetic illnesses. All living things contain this protein...
Horror Film Dialogue →
When we talk of dialogue in horror films it is important to remember that there are two main types of horror films. Those that involve some sort of supernatural event occurring. Films like The shining, the omen and Nightmare on Elm Street all revolve around a central “killing” figure. In the shining it is an old hotel that supernaturally takes over Jacks mind. In The Omen the...

The Signifier and the Signified →
Many people have taken a great interest in two seemingly different terms namely, the signifier and the signified. I plan of focusing on two individuals, Saussure and Lacan. Both Saussure and Lacan use the two terms in some very different ways. It is somewhat universally agreed upon that the Signifier is defined as a word that “points the finger”to its meaning and that the signified is...

Memoirs of a Drunk: Tails From the Bar →
Memoirs of a Drunk is the comical story of a guy who goes out to the bars and clubs in search of a story. It’s funny to learn some of the strange things that can happen when you “Just go out for a drink.” It’s also amazing the amount of stress one can endure when encountering some pretty strange women in some pretty inhospitable situations. It just proves that if you...
